‘FAITH’ is one of only a handful of boats built by William Piper boat company each one unique and built in traditional style but bespoke to each customer. ‘FAITH’ was the second boat they built after their first boat ‘PYROS’ won best in show 2009.
The hull was built by Tim Tyler with a Joshua bow and rivets, port holes fitted throughout. Fitted with a vintage Ruston Greaves engine and traditional brass controls, the propeller drive shaft is an Aquadrive. Fitted with an Victron multiplus inverter charger. The boat has been built internally, using reclaimed wood, to give a very traditional and quality finish, the floor is hard wood re claimed from an old welsh church believed to be over hundred years old. This and other unique features gives the boat a vintage feel with all the advantages of modern boat building.
Accessing the boat from the bow, step on to the large well deck area, gas locker on the bow has large storage due to the boat being gas free. Front double steel and glassed doors lead down into the snug area via solid wooden step that can be pushed under the well deck to give more space, either side of step are 2 large storage draws that are also stored under the well deck, cast iron black radiator, built in wooden storage cupboard, wall light and double door side hatch letting in plenty of light.
Continuing through double wooden doors with glazed hand painted panels is the galley with solid oak counter tops, reclaimed wooden cupboards and draws either side of galley with full size Belfast sink and double hatch above letting in plenty of light, integral full-size fridge. At the heart of the kitchen is a beautiful bright red UNO heritage AGA which supplies cooking facility, heating to radiators throughout the boat and hot water. The Aga runs off diesel and has a separate tank located on the bow.
From the galley the main saloon area is open plan, walls are lined half way with reclaimed tongue and groove and half marine ply painted with Farrow and Ball bespoke paint. Currently there is a three seater bed settee that sleeps 2 the saloon also features a lovely built in Welsh dresser giving further storage space with shelves draws and cupboards and further large black cast iron radiator.
From the Galley through bespoke reclaimed door there is a walk through bathroom consisting of a three quarter bath and shower over, round porcelain sink on antique style wash stand, cassette toilet housed hidden in reclaimed wooden built box, brass wall mounted heated towel rail and wall mounted storage cupboard.
Stepping up into the engine room which houses the centrally mounted Vintage Ruston Greaves engine, batteries housed beneath wooden flooring easily accessible, above built in cupboard housing victron inverter charger, opposite easily accessible cupboard housing the domestic isolator and the starter battery isolator and fuse board.
From the engine room double doors lead to the traditional back cabin with padded seating to the left side and fold down traditional day bed to the right, plenty of storage space provided by four under seating and bed deep draws and pull out built in wardrobe to side of day bed with fold down table and mirror, in the corner right of back doors is a lovely smooth cast iron traditional solid fuel stove, removable wooden back step leads to the traditional back deck.
FAITH is truly a unique boat and needs to be viewed to be fully appreciated.
