This is a very well appointed boat with lots of equipment and a spacious accommodation for the size of boat. The bilge keels were designed C J Roy to improve the sailing performance of his new Macwester27 design. The design was then adopted by Atlanta's and fitted to these models. "Emily" definitely sails better than many of the other bilge keel yachts of this period. And in the drying harbours around the British coast, the ability to dry out upright is invaluable.
